The association was chartered as the Big Sandy Board of REALTORS® in 1979.

The name was officially changed to the Eastern Kentucky Association of REALTORS® in 2001.

Eastern Kentucky Association of REALTORS® exists to support and enhance the ability of REALTOR® members to succeed in their businesses in an ethical and competent manner and through a united voice, preserve real property rights and advocate on behalf of the members and the consumers they serve.

Our members are actively involved in the local association, community, Kentucky Association of REALTORS®, and with the national Association of REALTORS®. We are proud to have had three of our members who were elected to serve as president of the Kentucky Association of REALTORS®.
